Something very disturbing was announced today at WAHM.com, a site I have been recommending for years. WAHM.com, originally conceived and owned by Cheryl Demas, was created as a resource for moms looking to work from home. Over the years it was built into a terrific Web site with a valuable informational forum where WAHMs could communicate with one another, share leads, talk about business and life. Ms. Demas (whom I do not judge one bit for making the decision that was right for her) sold the business to Internet Brands, and internet media company.

Today WAHM.com announced that one of its long-time employees (who worked faithfully from home for years for WAHM) was being let go because they are bringing the position “in house.” As far as I am concerned this is typical corporate America bovine excrement. It is the height of hypocrisy. The entire purpose and mission of WAHM.com is to promote working from home and give people resources to find ways to work from home. Why in the WORLD would a company make a decision to go against everything the Web site stands for by taking a job in house which can easily be done from home and has been successfully done from home by this employee for years? It makes no sense.

So, unless this course of action is changed I am removing my recommendation to use their site.

Oh excitement and joy! My new notebook from Dell arrived today and here I sit all comfy on my couch typing away on my wireless internet connection, as happy as can be. I’m thrilled with the service I received from Dell. The computer arrived quickly and it’s fantastic. I got the Inspiron 1525. It’s green. Green is my favorite color. That just is the icing on the cake.

I’m going from a 1.7ghz processor, 512MB ram to a 2.4 Duo with 3GB ram. WHOOOOOOSHHHH this thing is fast. I like the keyboard too. Not too clicky, but not too soft either. The sound is great. Screen resolution rocks. ::::beam::::: Look…isn’t it pretty??

I was impressed with the selection of Dell Notebooks.
I love their little wizard that walks you through building the system with just the options you want. I even got a matching green wireless mouse and laptop bag. Life is good.

Now that I can blog from anywhere, I’ll probably blog a lot more!

So the bailout went through today, but no one seems sure about how the current economic situation is going to affect the average American. All over the country people are wondering “can I get a Personal Loan?” or “how can I qualify for a Car Loan? Well, the Internet is a good place to start your search if you are in need of credit today.

BestLeadingLenders.com is an option to check out for those who prefer to get their information and even their loan approval from the comfort of their own home. You can use their site to search for all types of loans and even Credit Cards for Bad Credit. In uncertain times it’s nice to know there are information and loan sources out there. As always, do your due diligence when working with any financial service provider. Be careful out there!

I discovered a really neat blog today that’s one of my new favorites – “What I See Out My Window.” The author describes it as “Quite simply, the view from your window, and a description of what you see. Bringing the world together, one window at a time…”

What a fun and clever idea to share our little worlds with one another. Folks can submit photos taken out their windows and he’ll post them. There are some great pictures up there. You really must check it out…and then submit your photos! I sent mine in…you should too!!

Have you had your summer vacation yet? Just a few more weeks left before the kids go back to school and the fall routines begin. One of my favorite vacation spots is San Francisco. There is so much to do there! When we were there, we had a ball!

For a quiet, beautiful experience, visit the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park. Gorgeous and peaceful, it’s a nice little refuge from the big city buzz. Check out Fisherman’s Wharf too. There’s activities for all ages – visit the sea lions hanging out at Pier 30, or check out the Aquarium of the Bay, USS Pampanito Submarine, The Maritime Museum, Museum Mechanique, and and Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum among other things. Chinatown is another fun place to visit in San Francisco.

San Francisco has all kinds of great food, night life and entertainment and of course you can’t miss riding the trolleys! Don’t miss Ghiradelli Square either if you’re a chocolate lover! “The City by the Bay” has everything a family needs to have a great time whether it’s a short weekend jaunt or a longer trip.

A great way to plan your vacations is using Trusted Tours & Attractions. They have all the information you need to make sure you get the most out of your visit in their online travel guides. Access to tickets, attraction information, hotels, maps and just about all you need to plan the perfect trip. Take a look at what they have to say about San Francisco: Things to do in San Francisco, or if another city is more your speed, check out Kennedy Space Center and other great things to do in Orlando. Right now, they’re running a great promotion where you can win $150 Itunes gift card! Sign up for the
newsletter here!

Whatever you do, don’t wait because the summer is slipping away!!
