Great news from MySurvey! They’ve always been one of my favorite online survey companies. They always pay fast, my checks always came very quickly. NOW you can get paid via PayPal too! Also, they’ve added tons of other prizes, gift cards, certificates and all sorts of wonderful things. If you haven’t signed up yet, I highly encourage doing so.

One of my new favorite sites is Swagbucks. You use it to search the Web like you would Google, but you earn Swagbucks doing it. Trade your Swagbucks in for cool prizes. Over the last month I’ve cashed out $25 in gift certificates. Now that comes in handy. There are lots of other prizes to choose from too. Check it out:

has treated me well so far this year too. I’ve gotten over $50 in checks mailed to me. It’s not a living, but the extra cash sure comes in handy!

Don’t forget about surveys! I’ve talked about them before, but another handy check reminded me of how great they are. Now, they aren’t a “job” and won’t replace your income from working. Still, surveys are a great way to earn some extra cash and prizes.

For survey beginners, there are a few things to know. First of all, you don’t need to pay for a list of surveys or pay to join any survey site. The information is all out there for free and legitimate market survey companies never charge a fee to the people who take surveys.

What are surveys, anyway? It’s all part of market research. Companies pay market research companies to gather information from their “target market.” In other works, they want to know what consumers think, and more specifically they want to know what the people they want to sell to think. The “target market” is whatever demographic (age group, gender, income level etc.) the company is trying to market their products to. This is valuable information, so the companies are willing to pay to have these surveys done. This is why survey takers NEVER should pay any kind of fee to take surveys. Sites that ask you to pay are not legitimate survey companies.

When you sign up for online survey companies, you will get “screener surveys” before you get the paying surveys. These short screeners are to ensure that you fit the demographic the company is looking for. Don’t be frustrated when you get these and don’t get to go on and take the paid survey. The more of these screeners you get through, the more paid surveys you will receive.

Along with online surveys, you may also find local market research companies that do focus groups in your area. These tend to pay very well. I’ve made anywhere from $50 to $200 for a couple hours of my time. Focus groups are fun too, and sometimes you even get to do taste tests!

There are many legitimate survey companies out there. I have my favorites and I’ll share those with you.

Top of the list for me is MySurvey. I regularly get surveys and they pay very fast. They have a $10 pay out threshold and it’s very easy to reach. With MySurvey, you can get a check mailed to you, or you can turn in your points for prizes. I usually take the check, and it always comes quickly.

I highly recommend joining MySurvey. They rock!

Another good one is Opinion Outpost. This one is a lot of fun. Simple surveys, and they pay out on time via check. I’ve received several checks from them in the time I’ve been a member. Their customer service is also extremely responsive and helpful.

Another GREAT survey company is Global Test Market. They send survey invitations all the time. Cash-out is at $50, and if you try to qualify for all the surveys they send, it’s not hard to get there. I just received a check from them recently. They pay quickly once you cash out.

Survey Savvy! SurveySavvy is a great company. I’ve been a member for a few years now and have cashed out many times. They pay by check, and you can request a check any time you have funds in your account. They pay quickly and send lots of surveys.

Ipsos is a worldwide leading market research company. i-Say panel members earn rewards for each survey they take.

* Earn reward points for taking surveys – Points will be deposited one to two days after survey completion.
o Once you’ve earned 50 (or more) points, you can redeem your points for merchandise and gift cards offered by popular retail merchants.
o Click on the link below to view your reward points account, redeem rewards or to see what you can get for the points you earn.

Last but not least is MyPoints. MyPoints is one of my top favorites. I’ve been with them the longest of all the survey or paid to read email companies. My Points is a little different as it is not all surveys. When you sign up, you’ll receive emails from them on behalf of their advertisers. It’s simple. All you need to do is click on the link in the email to go to the advertiser’s site and you get points. You receive 5 points just for looking at the site, and more points if you actually shop there or complete a certain task. NEVER once have I gotten any type of virus or issue from clicking their links.

They also send survey emails for which you can receive more points. You can also refer friends to receive points. If you do your online shopping through MyPoints, you get points for every dollar you spend. Shop at popular online sites to rack up the points. They also offer a MyPoints Visa card where you earn points for every dollar you spend.

MyPoints has been completely reliable. I highly recommend this company!

The rewards are awesome! The reward partners change from time to time, but I have received gift cards from Target, Starbucks, Baja Fresh, Red Lobster, Kohl’s and many other of my favorite stores.

Those are my favorite survey companies. Now I have found a new fun site that rewards you for searching the web. I just cashed out for a nice gift certificate and received it almost immediately, so it’s legit. Yay! Check out SwagBucks! Someone recently turned me on to Swagbucks. It’s easy to win. You use their search engine to look for things online and you’re awarded Swagbucks which you can redeem for gift certificates and prizes! Check it out!

That’s all for now! Have fun earning some extra cash. It SURE comes in handy!!

Global Test Market is yet another terrific online survey company. They actually have surveys for people all over the world, so no matter where you are they have something for you! They are one of my favorites due to the frequency of the surveys.

I get survey invitations many times each week from GlobalTestMarket. I don’t always end up qualifying to complete each survey, but I do often enough to have cashed out several times. Cash out is at $50. It’s not difficult to get there if you try to qualify on each invitation they send you.

The surveys themselves are never too long and boring. Interesting topics make it fun to do. When the time comes to cash out, the check always comes promptly. I love that in a company!! I have to give Global Test Market the thumbs-up!

Opinion Outpost is another online survey company where you can earn cash for your opinions. I’ve been a member of Opinion Outpost for a couple of years now and receive a fairly steady stream of surveys to take. One thing they do really well is have a dashboard where you can log in and see what surveys are available to you, which ones you have taken and how many points you have accumulated to cash in. You need 50 points to cash out. 50 points is the equivalent of $5 and when you cash out they promptly send you a check in the mail.

Opinion Outpost also has a referral program and you are awarded 10 points for each referral who completes at least one survey.

When you sign up with Opinion Outpost you should complete all of your profiles so that you can receive surveys appropriate for you. They keep all of your profile information private and only use it to send you surveys that relate to you.

I highly recommend joining Opinion Outpost. You can join by clicking one of the links or on the banner here:

MySurvey is an online survey company that pays you for your opinions. When you sign up, you complete a profile that provides them with demographic information so they can send you appropriate surveys. For each survey you complete, you are awarded points which can be converted into cash, prizes or charity donations.

I’ve been a member of MySurvey for over a year now and have made some nice spare cash with them. They frequently send surveys by email and they give you the option to download a toolbar which will alert you when new surveys are available.

MySurvey has been one of my favorite survey companies to work with. They have always been quick to pay. You can cash out at 1000 points, or $10. It’s a great deal, and it’s free to join. Check them out – you won’t regret it!

Have you heard yet about online surveys and market research focus groups? There are ads all over the Internet for surveys companies. The trick is to know how to tell which opportunities and which are legitimate.Legitimate surveys come from companies wanting to know what consumers think about their products, their new product ideas, what your frustrations are so they can develop products that will sell. Some of these surveys will come directly from the companies, while many companies large and small opt to hire market research companies to conduct the surveys. You will find opportunities for online surveys, telephone surveys, in-person interviews and focus groups.

Legitimate companies do not charge you to join in order to get surveys. There are so many free companies that pay, so there is no sense in wasting your time paying a membership fee or paying for a list of companies.

Online Surveys

Online surveys can pay out in checks, PayPal, Gift Cards/Certificates, or points to exchange for cash, merchandise or gift certificates.Get signed up with these companies and enjoy a lot of “fun money” and things.I’ve gotten everything from cash, certificates, Target gift cards, Starbucks gift cards, gift cards from restaurants and stores, to household items like a Bissel carpet cleaner.Once you start getting checks in the mail, packages and gift certificates in your email you’ll be hooked on surveys!

Most surveys are fairly short – 20 minutes or less, and these ones pay anywhere from $1 – $5 on average. The more of these you complete, the more likely you will be to get chosen for a focus group.Focus groups are online sessions that last usually anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple hours and pay up to $150, sometimes more.

How do I get started?

  1. Open a free email account at Yahoo, Gmail or another service that you use exclusively for surveys. The reason I recommend this is that once you sign up, along with surveys, you may be receiving some “junk” email. While I’ve found the vast majority of the companies don’t send junk mail, as you learn, you may give out your email to a place that sells email addresses.
  2. Open a PayPal account. PayPal is an option that many survey companies use for payment. If you don’t already have an account, sign up.It’s a terrific service that’s free. You can also apply for a debit card from them for easy access to your cash.
  3. Start a spreadsheet. Not required, but I highly encourage it as it will allow you to see what you’re earning and keep track of payments due and/or points you accumulate.Put as much or as little information as you want to track.I do a list by survey date, company, survey topic, payment amount, payment method and date payment received.
  4. Keep a PAPER notebook. This is for your login name and password information for your email and survey accounts. It’s best not to keep those on your computer incase you ever get hacked.
  5. Start signing up for companies! Start with some on the following list, and continue searching the internet for more opportunities. There are many sites and blogs out there that list these companies for free.
  6. Check your mail.Once you sign up, you’ll receive email invitations to participate in surveys. Many of the companies also have web sites where you can log in, see your points or cash balance, request pay outs and take more surveys.Check your email daily or several times a day if you have time, and log into the sites at least once a week.
  7. Get paid! Some companies pay via PayPal per survey, meaning you will get a PayPal payment shortly after completing the survey.Other companies have pay out thresholds where they will pay you when you reach $5, $10, $20 etc.Check each company’s policy to see how their pay outs word.

Here are my current favorite survey companies. Many of the blogs and links in my favorites also have lists of similar companies.

…well, perhaps a few days late but close enough!

Currently working full time outside the home in a job I enjoy with a non-profit that’s near and dear to my heart. I’d like to get back home full time eventually, but for now I’m all about earning extra cash to put in savings and getting FREE stuff!

I’ve resolved to keep track of my work-from-home adventures here and see where we end up at the end of the year!

Today, I joined a new (to me) “pay to read emails” program called Inbox Dollars. You get paid to read emails. Pretty simple. Or so it would seem. We shall see.

My favorite “paid to read” site is MyPoints. I’ve gotten SO many gift certificates from them over the past couple years. Email me if you would like a referral to MyPoints. It’s totally free and they ROCK! When you sign up and refer people, you get 100 points for each referral!

My latest project is getting ready to re-launch my website – The old site is still up, flaws and all. I should be able to put up the new site shortly.

So, starting off the year, here’s a brief accounting of where The Eclectic WAHM stands:

  • Requested a check from Survey Savvy for $8 yesterday and already have another $2 in there today. In the past several weeks, I suddenly have 30 referrals on there too – when they start taking surveys I’ll be very happy!
  • Just requested a $10 check from Opinion Outpost. That was EASY. Couple surveys and badabing…cash. Happiness!
  • Cashed out yesterday for a $5 gift certificate from Lightspeed Panel. Take online surveys and earn cash and prizes. Sign up today and be entered into a $5,000 Sweepstakes. I still have 330 points, so 200 more to go for my next $5. It’s easy with them for it to add up.
  • Currently have 1,470 points at MyPoints. I’m saving up for something cool. Don’t know what yet.
  • Currently have $6 at Testspin and waiting to be credited for around $8 more. You can cash out there at $10 for gift certificates. Testspin is one of my favorites. They don’t have a referral program, sadly…but still – the $$ adds up quickly and I got hundreds of dollars from them last year.

So there you have it. I’m sure I’ve forotten something…but it’s bedtime.

Can’t wait to check my email in the morning for more cool surveys!!
